Carlos has received a 9% salary increase. If he now earns $654 per week, what was his salary before the increase.?
babunello [35]
So let's say he was earring x before his raise. That means that:
x times 1.09 = 654 (1.09 represents 100% (this is the 1.0) of his original salary plus 9% (this is the .09) his raise.
So,
1.09x = 654; now divide both sides by 1.09 to isolate and solve for x, and you get x = $600.

Mr.kelly pays $12,564 a year for rent. His rent is a constant amount each month. Which equation represents the amount he pays he
Nuetrik [128]

Answer:

1047 m = c

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Mr.kelly pays $12,564 a year for rent. His rent is a constant amount each month.

To Find:Which equation represents the amount he pays her month if m=months and c=total rent paid for the year?

Solution :

Since he pays for a year (12 months) =  $12,564

Since  His rent is a constant amount each month.

He pays for one month = \frac{12564}{12}=1047

Thus the amount he pays per month $1047

If he pays for m months then the total amount(c) of rent for m months

⇒1047 m = c

Hence equation represents the amount he pays her month if m=months and c=total rent paid for the year: 1047 m = c

Lou has a solid clay brick in the shape of a rectangular prism with a length of 8 inches, a width of 3.5 inches, and a height of
Marta_Voda [28]

Answer:

The weight of the brick is 60 ounce to the nearest ounce

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question, we are asked to calculate the weigh of Lou’s brick given the dimensions of the shape of the brick and the weight of the clay.

To answer this question quite aptly, we need to know exactly the volume of the rectangular prism given the dimensions we have in the question.

To calculate this volume , we simply use the measurements we have to get it.

mathematically the volume of a rectangular prism is simply V = w * h * l

where w , h and l are width, height and length respectively.

now let’s calculate!

V = 3.5 * 2.25 * 8 = 63 inches^3

Now we need to know what the brick weigh in ounce. We already have the weight of the clay. now this is equal to the volume of the brick divided by the weight of the clay.

Mathematically this is = 63/1.055 = 59.72 ounce which is 60 ounce to the nearest ounce
