this is an excerpt from the "Allegory of the cave" written by Plato.
Explanation:
The "Allegory of the cave" was a story created by Plato to show how the knowledge of a truth is directly linked to the individual knowledge of individuals, mainly individuals who are in a leadership position.
This allegory can be interpreted as the way that Plato found to show how the human being has constantly regressed, sinking into alienations and becoming a victim of the cave itself, even having the intellect necessary to be free. This is happening because the human being is indulging in laziness, stimulated by the quick access to information and the lack of reasoning that this causes.
What motivates Antigone to defy Creon's decree by burying her brother is divine authority. She thought it was not Creon's authority to give such a decree when there are divine laws that are stronger than human laws.
In my opinion, the correct answer is <span>A.)The poem uses figurative language and rhyme to express the speaker's ideas. Shelley uses metaphors, similes, imagery, sound devices such as sibilance, but those features are not typical only for the 19th-century lyric poetry. However, rhyme was used almost regularly. As for the B and C options, they can be applied to poetry from any age. The D option is not at all typical for the 19th-century poetry. Some poets used it (such as Wordsworth in Britain and Whitman in U.S.), but most of them didn't.</span>
