Answer:

11.419%

Explanation:

Given that,

Risk-free rate = 5.4

Market risk premium = 5

Portfolio = $1 million = $1,000,000

Amount invested in stock A = $218,000

Beta A = 0.5

Amount invested in stock B = $1,000,000 - $218,000

                                              = $782,000

Remainder invested in stock B that has a beta = 1.4

Portfolio beta:

= [(Amount in A × Beta of A) + (Amount in B × Beta of B)] ÷ Total Amount

= [($218,000 × 0.5) + ($782,000 × 1.4)] ÷ $1,000,000

= ($109,000 + $1,094,800) ÷ $1,000,000

= 1.2038

Required return:

= Risk free rate + (Beta × Market risk premium)

= 5.4% + (1.2038 × 5%)

= 5.4% + 6.019%

= 11.419%

Therefore, the required return on this portfolio is 11.419%

A 10-year semi-annual coupon bond with an $1000 par value pays an annual coupon rate of 6% and the market requires 8% APR. What
arlik [135]

Answer:

Coupon= $30 per period.

20 period for semi annual coupon payment.

28.148% discount rate

Explanation:

1.) Coupon rate * face value of bond = coupon

semi annual rate =6%/2=3%

Coupon= 1000 *3%= $30 per period.

2.) t= number of periods = years of maturity * coupon payment semi-annual

t= 10 * 2 = 20 periods.

3. Discount rate formula =C+[(F-P)/t] / (F+P/2)

where C=coupon payment annual

F= face value of security

P=price of security= 1000 *8%=80

t= years of maturity.

so we have⇒ 60+[(1000-80)/10]/(1000+80)/2

=152/540

=28.148%

An investment has the following cash flows and a required return of 13 percent. Based on IRR, should this project be accepted? W
Ganezh [65]

Answer:

 B. No; The IRR is less than the required return by about 1.53 percent

Explanation:

The internal rate of return is the discount rate that equates the after tax cash flows from an investment to the amount invested.

The IRR can be calculated using a financial calculator:

Cash flow in year zero = -$42,000

Cash flow in year one = 15,300

Cash flow in year two = 28,400

Cash flow in year three = 7,500

IRR = 11.47%

A project should be chosen if the IRR is greater than the required return

The IRR is less than the required return so the project should be rejected.

To find the IRR using a financial calacutor:

1. Input the cash flow values by pressing the CF button. After inputting the value, press enter and the arrow facing a downward direction.

2. After inputting all the cash flows, press the IRR button and then press the compute button.

Nuetrik [128]

Answer:

$30.1

Explanation:

Adjusted basis refers to the net value of an asset after considering depreciation and capital investments. It is the net value of an asset.

Adjusted taxable income is the income after adjusting for depreciation and interest.

For a sole proprietorship, the income of the business is the same as owners' income.

For Renee, adjusted taxable income will be,

Total revenue= $85M

Net expenses equal to total revenue minus depreciation minus interest paid

=$78.1, - $10.1 - $12.7

=$54.9

Adjusted taxable income= Total revenue - net expenses

= $85 - $54.9

=$30.1
