Hi there!

To divide the cherries, Lisa and Frank would have divide it by 2 to get equal amount of cherries.

divide 1/3 by 2....
1/3 ÷ 2
It can be simplified as 1/3 × 1/2
1/3 × 1/2 = 1/6

Lisa and Frank received 1/6 pounds of cherries.

Hope this helped! :)

So what your gonna want to do to solve this is make the fraction so its possible to share with 2 people.

So the best way to do this is convert 1/3 into a state where 6 in the denominator.

We can convert like this:

1/3 ---> 2/6

Since these fractions mean the same thing but are just shown differently but this helps us.

Now that we have 2/6 which is the same as 1/3 we can split the cherries equally among Lisa and Frank.

Since their are 2 people we can split 1/6 among them both

1/6 for Lisa and 1/6 for Frank

Your answer is each person received 1/6 a pound of cherries.

Hope this helps!
