An airplane is flying at 150 ft/s at an altitude of 2000 ft in a direction that will take it directly over an observer at ground

level. Find the rate of change of the angle of elevation between the observer and the plane when the plane is directly over a point on the ground that is 2000 ft from the observer.

Answer:

Explanation:

Let x be the horizontal distance of airplane . angle of elevation of airplane from observer = θ , altitude of airplane = 2000 ft ,

from the construction  θ = 45 degree. , x = 2000 ft .

Tanθ = 2000 / x

sec²θ dθ / dt = (2000 / x²)  dx / dt

dθ / dt = 2000 /(sec²θ x²) x dx / dt

dx / dt  = 150 ft /s

dθ / dt = 2000x 150 /(sec²θ x²)

= 300000 / sec²45 x 2000²

= .15 degree/ s

a 62.0 kg curler runs into a stationary 78.1 kg curler and they hold on to each other. Together they move away at 1.29 m/s, west
Lady_Fox [76]
Momentum P is given by:
P = mv

Given: m₁ = 62 kg, m₂ = 78.1 kg, v₁ = ?, v₂ = 0 m/s, v₁₊₂ = 1.29 m/s

before:
P = m_1 v_1 * m_2 v_2 = m_1 v_1

after:
P = (m_1 + m_2)v_{1+2}

Since momentum is conserved, the momentum before the collision must be equal to the momentum after the collision.

P = m_1 v_1 = (m_1 + m_2)v_{1+2} \\ v_1 =  \frac{(m_1 + m_2)v_{1+2}}{m_1}

Solve for v₁.

At its peak, a tornado is 53.0 m in diameter and carries 465-km/h winds. What is its angular velocity in revolutions per second?
expeople1 [14]

Answer:

0.7757 rev/s

Explanation:

d = Diameter of the tornado = 53 m

r = Radius of the tornado = 53/2 = 26.5 m

v = Velocity of wind = 465 km/h

Converting velocity to m/s

465=465\times \frac{1000}{3600}=\frac{775}{6}

Angular velocity

\omega=\frac{v}{r}\\\Rightarrow \omega=\frac{\frac{775}{6}}{26.5}\\\Rightarrow \omega=4.87\ rad/s

\omega=4.87\frac{1}{2\pi}=0.7757\ rev/s

∴ Angular velocity is 0.7757 rev/s

Describe, using the relevant physics, how moving a magnet near a [ 1 2 ] solenoid induces a voltage across it. How does the spee
Svetllana [295]

Answer:

Explanation:

Moving a magnet might cause a change in the magnetic field going through the solenoid. Whether or not it will change depends on the movement.

According to Faraday's law of induction a voltage is induced in a coil by a change in the magnetic flux. Magnetic flux is defined as the dot product of the magnetic field (a vector field) by the area enclosed by a loop of the coil.

\Phi B = -\int{B} \, dA

The voltage is induced by the variation of the magnetic flux:

\epsilon = -N * \frac{d \Phi B}{dt}

Where

ε: electromotive fore

N: number of turns in the coil

ΦB: magnetic flux

Moving the magnet faster would increase the rare of change of the magnetic flux, resulting in higher induced voltage.

Turning the magnet upside down would invert the direction of the magnetic field, reversing the voltage induced.

An atom has an atomic number 17 and atomic mass number 35. How many neutrons are present in its nucleus?
Anna [14]
The number of <span>neutrons that are present in its nucleus is 18. The correct option among all the options that are given in the question is the second option or option "B". Mass number minus the atomic number gives the number of neutrons. I hope that this is the answer that has come to your help.</span>
