How can you apply the remainder theorom

Mathematics
1 answer:

In remainder theorem, first we set the given factor or the divisor to 0 and solve for the variable. Then we put the value of the vriable that we got on setting the divisor to 0, in the given polynomial and check the result . If the result is 0, then the given divisor is a factor, else it is not. For e.g. Suppose we have to see whether x-1 is a factor of x square -2x+1 or not. So we set x-1to 0 that is x-1=0 which gives x=1 . Now we put 1 for x in x square -2x+1 that is 1-2+1 =0, so x-1 is a factor of the given polynomial .

Use the roster method to write each of the given sets. For some exercises you may need to consult a reference, such as the Inter
castortr0y [4]

Answer:

The empty set \{ \}

Step-by-step explanation:

Roster method is simply listing explicitly all the elements in the set, one by one (writing them between two curly brackets, and separating them through commas).

We want then to list explicitly all the elements in the following set:

The set of natural numbers x that satisfy x+2=1.

So, first we have to figure out which numbers are in that set. The set is made ONLY of those natural numbers x, that when you add 2 to them, you get 1. Clearly no natural number has that property (since the only number that would give us 1 when adding 2 to it, is the number -1, which is NOT a natural number). So there aren't any numbers at all in that set. So if we were to list them, we'd just list nothing inside the set:

\{ \} (which is just the empty set)

Find an equation for the line that passes through the points (-6, -6) and (4,-2)
Viefleur [7K]

Answer:

y = 2/5 x - 18/5

Step-by-step explanation:

y = mx + b

m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) = [-2 - (-6)]/[4 - (-6)] = 4/10 = 2/5

y = 2/5 x + b

-6 = (2/5)(-6) + b

-30 = -12 + 5b

5b = -18

b = -18/5

y = 2/5 x - 18/5

Which of the following trigonometric ratios are correct?
den301095 [7]

Hi there! In this problem, you should have the knowledge of three basic Trigonometric Ratio.

  • sinA = opposite/hypotenuse
  • cosA = adjacent/hypotenuse
  • tanA = opposite/adjacent

Now that we know three basic ratio. Let's check each choices!

  • sin50° = d/c

This choice is wrong because we focus on the 50° angle. When we focus on 50°, sin50° should be d/x and not d/c.

  • sin50° = c/x

This choice is also wrong because in ratio, it's cos50° that adjacent/hypotenuse.

  • tan50° = d/c

This choice is correct! As ratio states, tanA = opposite/adjacent.

  • tan50° = x/c

This choice is wrong. x/c is a reciprocal of cosine which is 1/cos. We call the reciprocal of cosine as secant or sec in short.

  • cos50° = x/d

This choice is wrong as x/d is a reciprocal of sine which is 1/sin. We call the reciprocal of sine as cosecant or cosec/csc in short.

  • cos50° = c/x

This choice is right by the ratio. Nothing really much to explain since we follow by ratio that is defined.

Answer

  • tan50° = d/c
  • cos50° = c/x

Questions can be asked through comment.

Furthermore, tan also has its reciprocal form itself which is called cotangent also known as cot in short.

Hope this helps, and Happy Learning! :)

Me. Watson is making 34.6 fluid once's of red paint and 18.6 fluid ounces of yellow paint to make orange paint. How many 3.5- fl
forsale [732]

Answer: She can fill about 15 3.5- fluid once jars.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Quantity of red paint = 34.6 fluid ounces

Quantity of yellow paint = 18.6 fluid ounces

Total quantity of orange color = (Quantity of red paint )+(Quantity of yellow paint )

= (34.6+18.6) fluid ounces

= 53.2 fluid ounces

Number of 3.5- fluid ounce jars she can fill = (Total quantity of orange color) ÷ 3.5

= 53.2÷3.5 = 15 (approx)

Hence, She can fill about 15 3.5- fluid once jars.
