The part of the brain which contains more neurons compared to other parts as it receives signals or sensory inputs that are highly sensitive is called the somatosensory cortex.

Further Explanation:

The somatosensory cortex is also named as somatic sensory area and somesthetic area. It is located in the parietal lobe and forms parts of the forebrain. It is responsible for processing sensations such as pain, vibrations, and touch so as to initiate movements related to them.

The neurons are extended throughout the body and are cells specialized in the transmission of information within the body. The sensory inputs are received by the somatosensory cortex through the neurons present within the cortex. Neurons first sense the feelings which might be related to visual, auditory or pain stimuli and then send this information to the somatosensory cortex for further processing.

The somatosensory cortex has two areas, primary (S1) and secondary somatosensory area (S2). The primary somatosensory area or S1 is situated on the postcentral gyrus while the S2 is located on the posterior part of the lateral fissure in the superior limb. The contralateral half of the body transfers fiber signals to the nuclei of thalamus in the form of trigeminal, spinal and medial lemnisci. The ventral posterior medial and the ventral posterior lateral part of the nuclei of the thalamus sends projection fibers to the primary somatosensory area. The termination of the efferent fibers occurs at the somesthetic association area.

The S2 gathers bilateral fibers from all parts of the body. Due to the lack of information about the neural connection of S2, it is believed that they receive fibers from the S1.

The answer to this question would be somatosensory cortex.
The amount of area that was brain dedicated for an organ is not same as their size. Hands area is bigger than feet. That was because of hand much more sensitive than feet. More sensitive means that there are more nervous per inch area. The nerve distribution density will affects the brain area more than the total surface area.

the galapagos tortoise are biodiverse. tortoises in a more barren area have a flat shell and long neck to help grasp the sparse
natima [27]

Answer:

This is an example of natural selection (adaptation).

Explanation:

Natural selection tends to favor those organisms which are better adapted to live in an environment.

As tortoises having flat shell and long neck were better adapted to live in barren area, hence through natural selection those organisms were favored in such an ecosystem.

As tortoises that lived on the vegetative lands were more adapted to live in such an ecosystem, hence through natural ecosystem these organisms were favored and increased in numbers.

Why do leaves appear green?
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

The correct answer option is B. Green wavelengths are the least used in photosynthesis.

Explanation:

Plants have a pigment in them called as chlorophyll. This chlorophyll is able to absorb only certain wavelengths of the light within the light spectrum.

From that visible light spectrum, chlorophyll is only able to absorb light of red and blue wavelength. The green light is not absorbed by the by chlorophyll as it is reflected back.

Therefore, this reflection of green light makes the leaves to appear green.
