Answer:

The value of x is -84.

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find this, start by making that number equal to x. Then write out the expression in numbers.

(x/-7) - 2 = 10

Now solve the equation using the order of operations.

(x/-7) - 2 = 10

x/-7 = 12

x = -84

If the measure of an angle is 78 less than the measure of its compliment, what is the measure of the angle?
aliina [53]
Complementary angles add up to 90'
So let X= angle 1
         Y=angle 2
So x+y=90
let x=y-78
so(y-78)+y=90
y-78+y=90
2y-78=90
2y=90+78
2y=168
y=168/2
y=84
x=y-78
so x=84-78
x=6
And 6+84=90
So the measure of the angle is 6 degrees.
Hope i helped!

What is the value of (7 + 2i)(3 - i)?
Harrizon [31]
There are two ways to work this out: normal variables or using "imaginary" numbers.

Normal variables:
(7+2i)(3-i)\\(7*3)+[7*(-i)]+(3*2i)+[2i*(-i)]\\21-7i+6i-2i^{2}\\\\21-i-2i^{2}

Imaginary numbers:
Using the result from earlier:
21-i-2i^{2}
Now since i = \sqrt{-1}, then the expression becomes:
21-i-2i^{2}\\21-i-2(\sqrt{-1})^{2}\\21-i+(-2)(-1)\\21-i+2\\\\23-i
