Let width = 4x

Therefore length must equal 4x - 9

4x + 4x - 9= 90

8x - 9 = 90
(plus 9 to both sides)

8x = 99
(divide both sides by 8)

x= 12.375

width = 4 x 12.375
width = 49.5

length = 49.5 - 9
length = 40.5

Answer:  The length and breadth of the rectangle are 15 feet and 6 feet respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:  Given that a the length of a rectangle is 9 feet less  than four times its width. its area is 90 square feet.

We are to determine the length and breadth of the rectangle algebraically.

Let, 'l' and 'w' represents the length and breadth of the rectangle.

Then, according to the given information, we have

l=4w-9.

We know that the area of a rectangle is equal to the product of its length and breadth.

So, the area of the given rectangle will be

A=l\times w\\\\\Rightarrow 90=(4w-9)\times w\\\\\Rightarrow 90=4w^2-9w\\\\\Rightarrow 4w^2-9w-90=0\\\\\Rightarrow 4w^2-24w+15w-90=0\\\\\Rightarrow 4w(w-6)+15(w-6)=0\\\\\Rightarrow (w-6)(4w+15)=0\\\\\Rightarrow w-6=0,~~~~~4w+15=0\\\\\Rightarrow w=6,~~-\dfrac{15}{4}.

Since the width of the rectangle cannot be negative, so w = 6 feet.

The length is l = 4w - 9 = 4 × 6 - 9 = 24 - 9 = 15 feet.

Thus, the length and breadth of the rectangle are 15 feet and 6 feet respectively.

The number of eats of corn which have been picked is; 16.9 corns.

<h3>How many eats of corn have been picked?</h3>

According to the question; 16 eats of corn are being picked foot every 18 peppers. In essence, the ratio of corns to peppers is; 16/18.

Hence, it follows that the number of corns which corresponds to 19 peppers been picked can be evaluated as follows;

16/18 = x/19

x = (19×16)/18

x = 16.9 eats of corn.

Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer:

12

Step-by-step explanation:

Givens

Harpreet        = x + 3

Sukhpreet     = x

Komalpreet   = 2*(x + 3)

Average Age = 15

Equation

[(x + 3) + x + 2*(x + 3) ] / 3 = 15                  Multiply both sides by 3

Solution

3 [(x + 3) + x + 2*(x + 3) ] / 3 = 15 * 3         Combine

 [(x + 3) + x + 2*(x + 3) ]       =   45             Remove the brackets

x + 3 + x + 2x + 6                 =   45             Combine like terms

4x + 9 = 45                                                 Subtract 9 from both sides

4x + 9 - 9 = 45 - 9                                       Combine

4x = 36                                                         Divide by 4

4x/4 = 36/4

x = 9

Answer

Harpreet is  x+ 3 = 9 + 3 = 12

At 7:00 am, the temperature was -4℉. At 9:00 am, it was 8° warmer. What was the temperature at 9:00 am? *
Nana76 [90]

<em>4℉.</em>

What we know about Degrees is that there is a<em> </em><u><em>Positive</em></u> type and a <u><em>negative</em></u> type.

(i.e: 30℉ is <u><em>positive</em></u> and -30℉ is <u><em>negative</em></u>.)

If the temperature was -4℉ at 7AM, then it is negative. If it goes up by an amount that is more than 4 then that negative will go up to a positive temperature. In this case: At 9AM it was 8° <u><em>warmer</em></u>.

<u><em>Warmer</em></u><em> is a </em><u><em>keyword</em></u><u>.</u> If it is warmer by an amount, Negative temperatures <u><em>will go up to a positive</em></u> and positive temperature <u><em>will just go up</em></u>. If it gets cooler, negative temperatures <u><em>will go down further</em></u> and positive temperatures <u><em>will go down to a negative</em></u>.

So lets work out this problem with our newfound knowledge.

-4° F at 7AM

8°  warmer at 9AM

-4 + 8 = 4.

<em>The temperature was 4°  at 9AM.</em>
