The model to use here is   y = k/x.

If g =18 when r = 4, then 18 = k/4.  Solving for k, k = 72.

Then g = 72/r.  If r = 6, g = 72/6 = 12 (answer)

X-4y=7 -6x-3y=12 how do i solve by substitution
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

x = 15

y = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

X-4y=7 | ×6 |

-6x-3y=12 | ×1 |

6x - 24y = 42

-6x - 3y = 12

___________+

27y = 54

y = 54/27

y = 2

x - 4y = 7

x - 4(2) = 7

x - 8 = 7

x = 7 + 8

x = 15

In a sale, normal prices are reduced by 17%. The normal price of a washing machine is reduced by £42.50
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer: The original price of washing machine is $250.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Rate of decline in normal prices = 17%

Amount of normal price reduced by = $42.50

Let the original price be x

According to question,

\frac{17}{100}\times x=42.50\\\\x=\frac{100}{17}\times 42.50\\\\x=\$250

Hence, The original price of washing machine is $250.

4 × (1,351 - 381)
Dovator [93]

The answer is C.

The expression is telling you to multiply the parenthesis times four. When you multply two numbers, a \times b, it means that you're considering a "copies" of b, or if you prefer, b repeated a times.

So, you have

2 \times (1.351 - 381) <- this is twice as much as the parenthesis

3 \times (1.351 - 381) <- this is three times as much as the parenthesis

4 \times (1.351 - 381) <- this is four times as much as the parenthesis
