<u>ANSWER:  </u>

The result of given operation 26+(-19)+5 is 12.

<u>SOLUTION: </u>

Given, expression is 26 + ( -19) + 5

We have to perform the above given operation.

Let us use the BODMAS ( Brackets Of Division Multiplication Addition Subtraction ) rule to perform above given operation.

In BODMAS rule first, the terms in brackets should be evaluated.

Here in our problem, there is only single term in brackets so we can go further in process.

In order, division should be done, but we do not have the operation in our operation. So we can go further.

Next, multiplication has to be done,

Here in our problem, + is in product with –

So, 26 + ( -19) + 5 → 26 – 19 + 5

Now, addition operation → 26 -19 + 5 → 26 – 14

Now subtraction operation → 26 – 14 → 12

Hence, the result of given operation is 12.

Susan enlarged a rectangle with a height of 6 cm and length of 13 cm on her computer. The length of the new rectangle is 19.5 cm
amid [387]
On enlarging the rectangle, the proportion or ratio of Length to Height will stay the same.

The ratio of original length to height is 13 : 6
The ratio in enlarged rectangle will stay the same. Let the height of enlarged rectangle is y cm. So we can write:

13:6=19.5:x \\  \\ &#10; \frac{13}{6} = \frac{19.5}{x} \\  \\ &#10;x=19.5* \frac{6}{13}=9

Therefore, the height in enlarged rectangle will be 9 cm

X is normally distributed with a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15. What is the probability of randomly sampling a scor
VikaD [51]

Answer:

Using calculator: 0.0415

Using Z-score Table: 0.0418

Step-by-step explanation:

There are two ways you can solve this problem.

1. Use the normal distribution function on a calculator.

Entered values:

Lower Limit: 126

Upper Limit: 999999999999999... (To encompass all the data)

Standard Deviation: 15

Mean: 100

2. Find the Z score and look up probabilities on table.

Formula for Z score:

Z=\frac{x-mean}{standard deviation} \\\\Z= \frac{126-100}{15}=1.7333...

Z = 1.7333

This means that the value 126 is 1.733 standard deviations away from the mean. We can look this value up on the Z table to find its corresponding probability.

This will show us the probability of the random sampling being equal to or lower than 126.

P = 0.9582

So to find the probability of it being above, we simply just calculate the inverse as all probabilities on the curve = 1.

1-0.9582 = 0.0418

NOTE: Values found from the table will usually be a bit different from if you find it from a calculator, the one you need will depend on the method you use in class.

Hope this helped!
