Give brainliest! Right triangle ABC is on a coordinate plane. Segment AB is on the line y = 2 and is 3 units long. Point C is on

the line x = −1. If the area of ΔABC is 6 square units, then find a possible y-coordinate of point C. 5 6 7 8

Answer: y coordinate is 6

Step-by-step explanation:

6=1/2(3)(h)

If you solve for H then

h=4

So, add 4 to the line y=2

y=2+4

2+4= 6

Hence, the possible y coordinate of point C is 6

Hope this helped!

I would really appreciate if marked brainlest !

Thank you !

Lets break it down:

The bottom right picture shows an approximation of what 1 wingspan length is, and the goal is to estimate lengths.

A. 1 wing is approx. 7 meters. To find the wingspan of the plane just do 7 meters multiplied by 2 = 14 meters (approx wingspan). Now we convert (remember, to the nearest foot!)

14 meters = 45.93 ft

Round it to the nearest foot = 46 ft is your approx. wingspan.

B. The height. This is one is a little tricky! Lets try to use what we know:

1 wing is approx. 7 meters. Since these are approximations, lets say half of one wing is roughly the size of the height of the plane. Since these are approximations I'd say 4 meters.

4 meters = 13 ft (rounded).

I checked online for the specs of the Lysander and the exact height is 14 ft 6 in and wingspan is 50 ft. This means our approximations were correct!

C. The length would be 10 ft + 7 meters

10 ft = 3 meters (rounded)

3 meters + 7 meters = 10 meters

(converting to meters then to ft at the end because it's less messy)

10 meters = 33 ft (rouned)

length of the Lysander is approx. 33 ft!

(the real length is 30 ft 6 in)

This means our approximations were correct once more.

Hopefully this helped you and made your night/day easier.

Please verify the following trigonometric identities.
Nina [5.8K]

Seems like there is a correction in the first question (RHS is tanx.tany)

(i) For convenience: let tanx = a ; tany = b

Thus, tanx + tany = a + b

Moreover, cotx = 1/tanx = 1/a ; coty = 1/b

Thus,

cotx + coty = 1/a + 1/b = (a + b)/ab

Hence,

=> (tanx + tany)/(cotx + coty)

=> (a + b) / { (a + b)/ab }

=> ab(a + b)/(a + b)

=> ab => tanx.tany , proved.

(ii) For convenience: let sinx = a ; cosx = b

As we know, sin²x + cos²x = 1 => a²+b²=1

=> (a³ + b³)/(a + b)

=> (a + b)(a² + b² - ab) / (a + b)

=> (a² + b² - ab)

=> 1 - ab => 1 - sinx.cosx , proved

(iii): let x/2 = A

=> tan(x/2) + cosx.tan(x/2)

=> tanA + cos2A.tanA

=> tanA [1 + cos2A]

=> tanA (2cos²A) {1+cos2A = 2cos²A}

=> (sinA/cosA) (2cos²A)

=> sinA (2cosA)

=> 2sinAcosA

=> sin2A

=> sin2(x/2)

=> sinx proved

Letting x/2 = A is not mandatory. I did it to decease words*(in a line).

Indentities used:

• sin²A + cos²A = 1

• (a³ + b³) = (a + b)(a² + b² - 1)

• 1 + cosA = 2 cos²(A/2)

• tanA = sinA/cosA.

• 2sinAcosA = sin2A
