He concluded that genes come in pairs and one gene is inherited from each parent and due to fusion of these genes, a new type of offspring is produced. Mendel also find out that the segregation of parental genes occurs during inheritance process and these genes are appeared in the offspring as dominant or recessive traits.

The parasympathetic nervous system is the nervous system is characterised by things such as mentioned above "slower respiration and heart rate" because it is the system that responds to stimulation, which can occur during eating, digestion, defecation, etc.
