11) -x + y = -1 ; 2x - y = 0
y = -1 + x ; 2x - (-1+x) = 0 ⇒ 2x + 1 - x = 0 ⇒x = -1
y = -1 + (-1) ⇒ y = -2

12) -2x + y = -20 ; 2x + y = 48
y = -20 + 2x ; 2x + (-20 + 2x) = 48 ⇒ 2x -20 + 2x = 48 ⇒ 4x = 48 + 20
                      4x = 68 ⇒ x = 68/4 ⇒ x = 17
y = -20 + 2(17) ⇒ y = -20 + 34 ⇒ y = 14

13) 3x -y = -2 ; -2x + y = 3
y = 3 + 2x ; 3x - (3 + 2x) = -2 ⇒ 3x - 3 - 2x = -2 ⇒ x = -2 + 3 ⇒ x = 1
y = 3 + 2(1) ⇒ y = 3 + 2 ⇒ y = 5

14) x - y = 4 ; x - 2y = 10
x = 4 + y ; (4 + y) - 2y = 10 ⇒ 4 + y - 2y = 10 ⇒ 4 - y = 10
                  ⇒ -y = 10 - 4 ⇒ -y = 6 ⇒  y = -6
x = 4 + (-6) ⇒ x = 4 - 6 ⇒ x = -2

15) x + 2y = 5 ; 3x + 2y = 17
x = 5 - 2y ; 3(5-2y) + 2y = 17 ⇒ 15 - 6y + 2y = 17 ⇒ -4y = 17 - 15
               ⇒ -4y = 2 ⇒ y = -2/4 ⇒ y = -1/2
x = 5 - 2(-1/2) ⇒ x = 5 + 2/2 ⇒ x = 5 + 1 ⇒ x = 6

Parallel lines are cut by a transversal such that the alternate interior angles have measures of 3x + 17 and x + 53 degrees. Th
vekshin1
It is a rule that alternate angles are equal, so using this fact, we can say that:
3x + 17 = x + 53
- x
2x + 17 = 53
- 17
2x = 36
÷ 2
x = 18
Which means that your answer would be B. x = 18

Which is in an equation of the line through (0,0) and (-8,-5)?
Lina20 [59]

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the first coordinates are both (0,0) it implies that the line passes through the origin.

The slope of the line is therefore 5/8

The equation:

y-0=5/8(x-0)

y=5/8x

Ann made a 33-step staircase using 1818 toothpicks as shown in the figure. How many toothpicks does she need to add to complete
natali 33 [55]
In the given question, there is no figure or diagram given. Based on the information's provided in the question the answer can be determined.
Number of toothpicks required by Ann to make 33-step staircase = 1818
Then
Number of tooth picks required
by Ann to make 55-step staircase = (1818/33) * 55
                                                       = (1818 * 5)/3
                                                       = 606 * 5
                                                       = 3030
So from the above deduction we can conclude that Ann needs 121 more toothpicks to complete the remaining steps.
So
The number of more toothpicks that Ann needs = 3030 - 1818
                                                                             = 1212

Christopher wrote the number pattern below.The first term is 8. 8,6,8,7,10
Aneli [31]
8 goes to 6 that’s -2 then goes back to 8 then goes to 7 that’s -1 add -1 and -2 and you get -3 but you add it like before so it’s 7 to 10 so then it’s 10 -4 to 6 then goes back to 10 to where you add 4 to get 14
