8^2 + 9 * (12/3 * 2) - 7 <--- First thing that PEMDAS is Parenthesis. But oh wait there are both division and multiplication, which one comes first? Division, so you go that

8^2 + 9 * (4*2) -7 <--- Go ahead and multiply now whats still inside the parenthesis

8^2 + 9 * 8 - 7 <--- Next is the exponents, you gotta remember that 8 to the second power is not 8*2 its 8*8

64 + 9 * 8 - 7 <--- Since there isn't division, just go and multiply 9*8

64 + 72 - 7 <--- I see addition first! So add 64 + 72

136 - 7 <--- Lastly subtract

129 <--- That is your answer :) Hope this helped

What is the median of the data set? {17, 40, 23, 44, 44, 30} Enter your answer in the box.
beks73 [17]
To find the median of the data set, we must first order them from lowest to highest in increasing order. Let's rearrange them in that way:

{17, 23, 30, 40, 44, 44}

Then we begin by crossing one off from each side, until we get to the middle. However, we see that our middle here is both 30 and 40.

What we do in a case like this is add up the two numbers and divide by 2 (essentially find the mean of the two middlemost numbers). Let's do that now:

30+40=70

\frac{70}{2}=35

So now we know that the median of the set of data is 35.

the price of an article is Marked 25% above the cost price .if it is solid the profit of Rs.500 after allowing 15% discount .wha
gavmur [86]

Answer:

  Rs 8500

Step-by-step explanation:

For a cost price of c, the marked price is ...

  marked = c +25%·c = 1.25c

After the 15% discount, the sale price will be ...

  s = marked -15%·marked = 0.85·marked = (0.85)(1.25c) = 1.0625c

The profit will be the difference between the sale price s and the cost c:

  p = s -c

  500 = (1.0625c) -c = 0.0625c

Then the cost is ...

  500/0.0625 = c = 8000

and the sale price is ...

  s = c +p = 8000 +500 = 8500 . . . rupees

The selling price will be Rs 8500.
