Carl Jung was a supporter of Sigmund Freud as they share the same interest when it comes to unconscious thinking. However they have some differences with their theories. One of it is when it comes to nature and the purpose of libido as for Jung the unconscious is a source of energy motivating a behavior while for Freud it specifically points to sexual gratification. Another difference is in regard to the unconscious nature since for Jung it means it is where the repressed memories have been stored specifically to the individual and also with his or her past while for Freud it is still a storehouse of memories yet mostly for the unacceptable repressed ones specifically for the individual. Lastly, for the cause of behavior Jung explained that it is a combination of past experiences to be added to the future ones while Freud thinks it is compose of past experiences mainly during childhood.
