Answer with explanation:

Mean length of fish = 79 cm

Standard deviation = 10 cm

Total number of fish = 310

If we arrange the total fish along a bell shaped curve ,called normal distribution

1. 68.2% of the total fish will lie along one standard deviation.Means, from 79-10=69 to 79 +10=89,68.2 % of fish population will lie.

That is , 34.1 % of fish population will lie on both side of mean in one standard deviation.

As, mean is mid point of normal distribution curve, on both sides of mean , 50% of the data falls.

So, % of data of fish which will be longer than 69 cm = 50 % + 34.1 %=84.1%

Now, 84.1% of 310

     =\frac{84.1}{100}\times 310\\\\=\frac{84.1 \times 31}{10}\\\\=\frac{2607.1}{10}\\\\=260.71

Approximately,260 or  261 fishes will be longer than 69 cm.

The line passing through (1,4) and (-4,-1) has the following slope:

Find the slope of the line passing thru the other set of points.  Graph both lines.  What do you see?  Do the 2 lines have any particular relationship to one another?

Suppose Megan has enough money to buy 1 hat and 2 shirts for $21 and then another 2 hats and 1 shirt for $18.  In total, she has bought 3 hats and 3 shirts for $39.  But she has enough for only 1 hat and 1 shirt and so Megan has 39 ÷ 3 = $13.

A weight suspended by a spring vibrates vertically according to the function D D given by D(t)=2sin(4π(t+18)) D ( t ) = 2 sin (
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

21.75 cm/s

Step-by-step explanation:

1 cm above central position means D = 1, so we plug in 1 into D(t) and find the time and which this occurs.

D(t)=2Sin (4\pi(t+18))\\1=2Sin (4\pi(t+18))\\\frac{1}{2}=Sin(4\pi t +72\pi)\\4\pi t + 72 \pi = \frac{\pi}{6}\\4\pi t = \frac{\pi}{6}-72\pi\\t=\frac{\frac{\pi}{6}-72\pi}{4\pi}

This is the time at which this occurs.

To find instantaneous rate of change, we differentiate D(t) and plug in this t we found. Remembering that d/dt (Sin t) = Cos t

D(t)=2Sin (4\pi(t+18))\\D(t)=2Sin(4\pi t + 72\pi)\\D'(t)=2Cos(4\pi t + 72\pi)(4\pi)

Now putting t:

D'(t)=2Cos(4\pi t + 72\pi)(4\pi)\\D'(\frac{\frac{\pi}{6}-72\pi}{4\pi})=2Cos(4\pi (\frac{\frac{\pi}{6}-72\pi}{4\pi}) + 72\pi)(4\pi)\\=8\pi Cos(\frac{\pi}{6})\\=21.75

Thus, the instantaneous rate would be around 21.75 cm/s
