Where in a phylogenetic tree would you expect to find the organism that had evolved most recently?
Mnenie [13.5K]

Answer:

Option D, at the branch tips

Explanation:

Phylogeny tree is just like a family tree in which the roots of the tree that are its base represents the ancestral lineage. While moving towards the branches , the time is considered to be moving forwards as the organism which lie at the tip of the branches are the ones which have evolved from the ancestral lineage lying at the base. Thus, the branches at the end of a tree are the ones which have the most recently evolved organism.

Thus, option D is correct
