The function is continuous for x>0. It goes to -\infty when x\to0 and it goes to +\infty when x\to+\infty hence its range is \Bbb{R}=(-\infty,+\infty)

How do you solve a-9/a3
Klio2033 [76]
Is it this?
\frac{a - 9}{a3}
If so, then
\frac{a - 9}{a3}  = 0 \\  \frac{a}{a3}  -  \frac{9}{a3}  = 0 \\  \frac{1}{3}   -  \frac{9}{a3}  \\  \frac{1}{3}  =  \frac{9}{a3}  \\ 3( \frac{1}{3} ) = 3( \frac{9}{a3} ) \\ 1 =  \frac{9}{a}  \\ a = 9

Margie is standing on a bridge looking at the river below. She throws a rock over the bridge with an initial
Marina CMI [18]
<h2>Explanation:</h2><h2></h2>

Here we know that Margie is standing on a bridge looking at the river. She throws a rock over the bridge with an initial  velocity of 60 ft/sec. The height, h, of the rock at the rime t seconds after it was thrown can be modeled by the  equation:

h(t) = -16t^2+60t+72

To calculate how long will it take for the rock to reach the surface of the water, we need to set h(t)=0. So:

0 = -16t^2+60t+72 \\ \\ \\ \text{Using quadratic formula}: \\ \\ t=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a} \\ \\ \\ a=-16 \\ \\ b=60 \\ \\ c=72 \\ \\ \\ t=\frac{-60 \pm \sqrt{60^2-4(-16)(72)}}{2(-16)} \\ \\ t=\frac{-60 \pm \sqrt{60^2-4(-16)(72)}}{2(-16)} \\ \\ t=\frac{-60 \pm \sqrt{8208}}{-32} \\ \\ t_{1}=4.70 \\ \\ t_{2}=-0.95

Given that time can't be negative, we just choose the positive value. Therefore, <em>it will take 4.70 seconds for the rock to reach the surface water.</em>

What is the cost of constructing a fence 6 feet, 6 inches, high around a lot measuring 90 feet by 175 feet, if the cost of erect
lions [1.4K]

Answer:

The total cost is $3504.625

Step-by-step explanation:

1 inch = 0.0833333 feet

Height = 6 feet 6 inches =6+6 \times 0.0833333=6.5 feet

Length = 90 feet

Breadth = 175 feet

Perimeter = 2(l+b)=2(90+175) = 530 feet

Cost of erecting the fence is $1.25 per linear foot .

So, Cost of erecting the fence of 530 feet = 530 \times 1.25

Cost of erecting the fence of 530 feet = 662.5

Area of fence = 2(l+b)h=530 \times 6.5=3445 feet^2

Cost of materials is $0.825 per square foot of fence

Cost of materials of 3445 square foot of fence = 3445 \times 0.825

                                                                             = 2842.125

Total cost = $2842.125+$662.5

Total cost = $3504.625

Hence the total cost is $3504.625
