How do you detect whether or not a word is a palindrome?

English
1 answer:

First, let's define the meaning of palindrome. Palindrome is a word that is structured similarly forwards or backwards. An example would be the name Hannah. If you write it backwards, it is still Hannah. Hence, you can detect if the word is a palindrome if it still spells the same if you read or write it backwards.

The of computers took the lead in the industry when it built a machine with improved storage for a lower price.
Ray Of Light [21]

Answer:

C. manufacturer

Explanation:

A manufacturer refers to an individual or business firm that is saddled with the responsibility of transforming (converting) raw materials into finished products that meets the unending requirements or needs of the consumers (end users). Also, a manufacturer is generally referred to as a producer because they undertake the role of creating finished goods that are used for specific purposes in different areas of life.

Hence, the word that is most appropriate or best fills the gap in the given sentence is a "manufacturer."

Filling up the blank space in the question, we have; The manufacturer of computers took the lead in the industry when it built a machine with improved storage for a lower price.

On the other hand, distributors are saddled with the responsibility of getting the finished goods produced by the manufacturers to the wholesaler or retailer. A retailer refers to an individual who buys directly from the wholesaler in relatively large quantity and sells to the consumers.

Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in Maryland in approximately 1818. After several unsuccessful attempts, Douglass escape
chubhunter [2.5K]

I looked this question up and was able to find two answer options for it:

A. Douglass and Jacobs both wrote important autobiographies about their experience as slaves.

B. Douglass and Jacobs both escaped from slavery in the 1800's.

Answer:

The main idea of the passage is:

A. Douglass and Jacobs both wrote important autobiographies about their experience as slaves.

Explanation:

From the passage, we can safely infer that both Douglass and Jacobs escaped slavery in the 1800's taking into consideration the year they were born. However, that is not the focus of the paragraph. Notice how the author compares Douglass' and Jacobs' lives, focusing especially on the fact that they both wrote autobiographies and became supporters of the antislavery movement. This is the main idea of the passage: that Douglass and Jacobs become authors and that they described their own experience as slaves in their books.
