The Public Works programs were highly effective in helping to end the Depression, as they employed people, thus allowing them to buy manufactured goods, which in turn increased manufacturing companies confidence and willingness to invest. This willingness to invest would in turn result in either making more products or creating new products, thus creating jobs to make these products, employing more people and in turn allowing them to buy more manufactured products. This cycle would continue until investment and personal expenditures leveled out at a equilibrium that was higher than before the Public Works programs were implemented.
