6) AEB + BEC + DEC = 180

     70   + BEC + 30   = 180

                BEC + 100 = 180

                          BEC = 80°

7) ∠2 ≅ ∠4   because they are vertical angles

   ∠2 = ∠4    definition of congruency

   88° = ∠4   substitution

8) complement means their sum equals 90°

    20° + x = 90°

            x = 70°

9) AEB + BED = 180    because they are a linear pair

   AEB +  120  = 180

              AEB = 60°

10) ∠2 + ∠3 = 180      because they are a linear pair

5x + 10 + x + 50 = 180   substitution

            6x + 60 = 180   simplify (add like terms)

                     6x = 120   subtraction property of equality

                       x = 20   division property of equality

11) ∠1 ≅ ∠3    because they are vertical angles

   ∠1 = ∠3     definition of congruency

3x - 40 = x + 10   substitution

2x - 40 = 10        subtraction property of equality

      2x = 50       addition property of equality

        x = 25       division property of equality

12) AEB + CEB + CED = 180     supplementary angles

       4x  +   9x  +   2x  = 180     substitution

                            15x = 180      simplify (add like terms)

                               x = 12         division property of equality

CED = 2x   = 2(12)   = 24°

13) complement means their sum equals 90°

   x + complement = 90°

         complement = 90° - x

14) supplement means their sum equals 180°

5x + 30° + supplement = 180°

         5x + supplement = 150°

                supplement = (150 - 5x)°

15) x + 8x = 180

           9x = 180

             x = 20

8x    = 8(20)   = 160°

A company makes three sizes of juice bottles: small, medium, and large.
Ivahew [28]

An expression in terms of s that represents the number of large bottles is :  L = (\frac{15s}{2} /3})

<h3>Ratio of different sizes of bottles </h3>

The company makes s small bottles every minute

let ; M represent the number of medium bottles made every minute

L represent the number of large bottles made every minute

small bottles to medium =  2 : 3

small bottles to medium =  s : M

M is the unknown, so to find how many medium bottles that has been made,  we must cross multiply

2M = 3s

M = \frac{3s}{2}  medium bottles made every minute

medium bottles to large bottles =  3 : 5

medium bottles to large bottles =  M : L

where M = \frac{3s}{2}

The equation becomes:

           3 : 5

           \frac{3s}{2} : L

L is the unknown, so to find how many Large bottles that has been made,  we must cross multiply

3L =( \frac{3s}{2} ) * 5

L = (\frac{15s}{2} /3})

L = ( \frac{5}{2} s)

L = 2.5 s

therefore the large bottles the company makes every minute is 2.5s large bottles

we can conclude that the expression for the number of large bottles the company makes every minute with respect to s is : L = 2.5 s

What’s the answer to the top question and steps how to solve?
Leviafan [203]

Answer:

-3.69

Step-by-step explanation:

Exponential equations can be solved by taking Ln (natural logarithm) of both sides. The rule we need to know is:

Ln(a^b)=bLn(a)

Now lets work out this problem:

16^{2x+3}=13^{x-1}\\Ln(16^{2x+3})=Ln(13^{x-1})\\(2x+3)Ln(16)=(x-1)Ln(13)

Using calculator, we take the values of Ln 16 and Ln 13 as:

Ln 16 = 2.7726

Ln 13 = 2.5649

Now, we can solve for x:

(2x+3)Ln(16)=(x-1)Ln(13)\\(2x+3)2.7726=(x-1)2.5649\\5.5452x+8.3178=2.5649x-2.5649\\2.9803x=-10.8827\\x=-3.69

x is -3.69 (rounded to 2 decimal places)
