The sum of two complementary angles is 90°. For one pair of complementary angles, the measure of the first angle is 15 less than

twice the measure of the second angle. Write a system of equations that can be used to determine the measure of the first angle, a, and the measure of the second angle, b.

Answer: The measure of angle a is 90-25=65° and the measure of angle be is 25°.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the two complementary angles be 'a' and 'b'.

So, the sum of two complementary angles is 90°.

So, it becomes,

a+b=90^\circ---------------(1)

First angle is 15 less than twice the measure of the second angle.

So, it becomes,

a=2b-15-------------(2)

Put the equation (2) in equation (1), we get

a+b=90^\circ\\\\2b-15+b=90^\circ\\\\3b+15=90^\circ\\\\b=90-15\\\\3b=75^\circ\\\\b=\dfrac{75}{3}\\\\b=25^\circ

Hence, the measure of angle a is 90-25=65° and the measure of angle be is 25°

A + b = 90
a = 2b - 15

2b - 15 + b = 90
3b - 15 = 90
3b = 90 + 15
3b = 105
b = 105/3
b = 35 <== second angle

a = 2b - 15
a = 2(35) - 15
a = 70 - 15
a = 55 <== first angle

Feliz [49]

Answer: 13.96 in²

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

  • radius (r)

d = 2r

16 = 2r

8 = r

  • angle in radians (θ)

\frac{180}{\pi} =\frac{25}{\theta}

180(θ) = 25(π)

      θ  = \frac{25}{180}\pi

      θ  = \frac{5}{36}\pi

  • Area (A)

A = \frac{1}{2}r² θ

   = \frac{1}{2}(8)^{2}(\frac{5}{36}\pi)

   = \frac{40}{9}\pi

   = 13.96

Answer: 12π

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

s = rθ

  = 60(\frac{\pi }{5})

  = 12π

Answer: 22.440 cm²

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

A = \frac{1}{2}r²θ

   = \frac{1}{2}(10)²(\frac{\pi} {7})

   = \frac{50}{7}\pi

   = 22.440

*************************************************************************

Answer: 270°, 630°, -450°, -810°

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

positive:  -90 + 360 = 270

                                    270 + 360 = 630

negative: -90 - 360 = -450

                                   -450 - 360 = -810

*************************************************************************

Answer: \frac{3\pi} {4}

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

  \frac{19\pi} {4} - 2\pi

= \frac{19\pi} {4} - \frac{8\pi} {4}

= \frac{11\pi} {4}

\frac{11\pi}{4} - 2\pi

= \frac{11\pi} {4} - \frac{8\pi} {4}

= \frac{3\pi} {4}

If you subtract another 2π, you will end up with a negative value.  The question asks for the smallest positive value.

Katyanochek1 [597]
Assuming the room is a rectangle...
The area of a rectangle = its length × its width.
The amount of carpet we need to cover our rectangular room = 8.5 ft × 7.5 ft
Use decimal long multiplication or otherwise to get 63.75 ft².

Triangle F G E is shown. Angle F E G is a right angle. The length of hypotenuse F G is 18.6 inches and the length of F E is 12 i
Gala2k [10]

Answer:

Measure of ∠FGE is 40.2°.

Step-by-step explanation:

Refer to the attachment.

Consider ΔFGE. Given that ∠FEG = 90° and ∠FGE is x°.

To find the value of ∠FGE use trigonometric ratios.

Use sine ratio to find the value of ∠FGE.

\sin \theta=\dfrac{opposite\:side}{hypotenuse\:side}

Rewriting it in terms of x° as follows,

\sin x=\dfrac{opposite\:side}{hypotenuse\:side}

Now find the opposite and hypotenuse side of the angle ∠FGE.

So opposite side of ∠FGE is FE and hypotenuse side of ∠FGE is FG.

Substituting the values,

\sin x=\dfrac{FE}{FG}

Given that length of FE is 12 inch and FG is 18.6 inch.

Substituting the value,

\sin x=\dfrac{12}{18.6}

To find the value of x, taking inverse sin.

x=\arcsin \left(\dfrac{12}{18.6}\right)

Calculating the value,

x=40.17

Rounding to nearest tenth the value of angle is 40.2

Therefore measure of ∠FGE is 40.2° .
