end more than $25 a week on gasoline. of those that do not commute to school each day, 95% indicated that they do not spend more than $25 a week on gasoline. a student surveyed is chosen at random. 4. what is the probability that this student does spend more than $25 a week on gas, given that he/she does commute to school each day?

Commute to school
= 80% of 2000
= 0.8 x 2000
= 1600

Commute to school and spend more than $25 on gasoline
= 83% of 1600
= 0.83 x 1600
= 1328

Given that he/she commute to school,
P(Spend more than $25) = 1382/1600 = 691/800

Answer: 691/800

Can someone please explain how to find x and y I don’t understand this at all
Katena32 [7]

To find y you must recognize that 141+3y=180 . You know this since half of a circle is 180, and a line is basically half a circle if you arc from end point to end point.

You can then subtract 141 from both sides,

3y = 39

Then divide both sides by 3,

y=13

You would want to use 39° for 3y° since 3·13= 39.

A triangle can only contain 180°, so you would add 68 and 39 together and then subtract this from 180 to give you x.

68 + 39 + x = 180

107 + x = 180

x = 73

Please help me workout this zero-product property <br><br> (X-6)(x+1)=0
nexus9112 [7]
X-6=0
Add +6 to both sides of the equation to get rid of -6 and leave x by its self.

X+1=0
Subtract -1 to both sides of the equation to get rid of +1 and leave x by its self.

Solution:

X= 6

X= -1

Hope this helped ;)

disa [49]

Answer:

z =\frac{50-64}{7}= -2

z =\frac{43-64}{7}= -3

We know that within two deviations from the mean we have 95% of the data from the empirical rule so then below 2 deviation from the mean we have (100-95)/2 % =2.5%. And within 3 deviations from the mean we have 99.7% of the data so then below 3 deviations from the mean we have (100-99.7)/2% =0.15%

And then the final answer for this case would be:

2.5 -0.15 = 2.35\%

Step-by-step explanation:

For this case we have the following parameters from the variable number of motnhs in service for the fleet of cars

\mu = 64, \sigma =7

For this case we want to find the percentage of values between :

P(43< X< 50)

And we can use the z score formula given by:

z = \frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}

In order to calculate how many deviation we are within from the mean. Using this formula for the limits we got:

z =\frac{50-64}{7}= -2

z =\frac{43-64}{7}= -3
