8/10 because equal fractions have to be multiplied by 2

No, it is not.

For fractions to be equivalent, they need to have an equal ratio.

For example, 3/9 and 2/6.
They still have the same ratio of 1/3.
Basically, just try dividing them by their simplified fraction.

Elanso [62]

Answer:

x = 10.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly, in geometry, you may have to prove that the two triangles pictured are similar.

Since the two horizontal lines are marked, they are assumed to be parallel.

Therefore, if the lines are parallel, the two bottom angles of each triangle can be treated as the same due to the [Corresponding Angles Theorem], respectively

As such, the two triangles can be seen as SIMILAR as proven by Angle-Angle Similarity.

Now that we've proven both triangles to be similar, we can then set up ratios for the sides:

\frac{8}{6} = \frac{8+14}{y}

Note: we are using y as a measure of the entire right side of the triangle, so

y = 6 + x

Continuing on, if you cross-multiply the fractions to solve for y:

8y = 6 * 22

Simplify.

8y = 132

Simplify again.

y = 16.5

We are not done yet! We are solving for x, so remember y = 6 + x

16.5 = 6 + x

Solve for x.

x = 10.5

Really need help with this math problem. Thanks!
ohaa [14]
Lana = x
Pam = 0.5x - 0.05
Cheryl = 0.5x - 0.05 + 3.10

Total 89$ = Lana + Pam + Cheryl

89 = x + 0.5x - 0.05 + 0.5x - 0.05 + 3.10
89 = 2x + 3
89 - 3 = 2x
86 = 2x
86/2 = x
43 = x

then Pam = 0.5(43) - 0.05
= 21.50 - 0.05
= 21.45

Cheryl = 21.45 + 3.10
= 24.55

Write an equation of the line in point slope form that passes through (-16, 8) and (4,-2)
Feliz [49]

When the reference point is used in the point-slope form of the equation, the equation should evaluate to ...

... 0 = 0

This is only true for point (-16, 8) using the equation of selection a).

Happily, we also find that point (4, -2) satisfies the equation.

... -2-8 = -1/2(4+16)

... -10 = -1/2(20) . . . . true

The appropriate choice is ...

... a.) y-8 = -1/2(x+16)
