Its B. it would be impossible to be D, because a positive plus a positive cannot be a negative. but a Negative plus a positive would equal a negative. so B is correct

Jack says that because kites do not have parallel sides, a square is not a kite. Explain his error in thinking.
PtichkaEL [24]

Answer:

Square is a kind of kite.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

Kite is a flat shape with two pairs of sides and each pair is made of two adjacent sides that are equal in length.

Square has four equal sides and four equal angles of 90°

Square is a kind of kite because it has two pairs of equal adjacent side.

Hence, square is a kind of kite.

What are the solutions of the equation x^6-9x^3+8= 0 use u substitution to solve
labwork [276]

Answer: x = {1, 2}

Step-by-step explanation:

x⁶ - 9x³ + 8 = 0

Let u = x³

⇒ (x³)² - 9(x³)¹ + 8(x³)⁰ = 0

⇒ u² - 9u + 8 = 0

⇒ (u - 1)(u - 8) = 0

⇒ u = 1 or u = 8

Replace u with x³

x³ = 1     or   x³ = 8

Take the cubed root of each side

x = 1     or     x = 2

What is the absolute deviation of 12?
Minchanka [31]
The mean absolute deviation of a set of data is the average distance between each data value and the mean. The mean number of contacts stored and the distance each data value is from the mean is shown below. Each data value is represented by an ×. So, the mean absolute deviation is 3.75.

Which of the following is true for the rational function f(x) = x-16/x-4 ?
Ratling [72]
First of all, F is true because (16 - 16)/(16 - 4) = 0. It just means when you plug in that number (16) you'll get 0. This will NOT happen for 4 because the 0 is in the denominator.

Look what happens if you have x = 4. This gives you 12/0, which is undefined. For some graphs, this is a hole, but let's look closer.

What happens if you have x = 3.9? You'll have 12.1/0.1. 3.9999? 12.0001/0.0001. The closer you get to 4, the closer you'll get to y = infinity.

But what if you have 4.1? 11.9/-0.1. You'll get the same results, but NEGATIVE infinity. So it is NOT a hole in the graph.

If you draw it out, you'll see that there is a vertical asymptote at x = 4.

B and F are true.

As for horizontal asymptotes, look at it like this: y = 16-16/16 - 4 means y = 0. There is no asymptote here. Try subbing in 1 = (x -16)/(x - 4).
Multiply by x - 4 on both sides
x - 4 = x - 16
There is no solution here; there will be an asymptote, so D is also true.

B, D, and F are true. ,"yahoo answers"//////////////////if i get busted at least i put down my main source (you know what I'm saying)
