You know that 1/4 --> 25 %.

So

32 --> 100%
x  --> 75 %

x=  \frac{32*75}{100} = 24

Therefore The sale price is $24.

Hope this helps !

If you multiply a number by 3 and divide by 4 the result is 24. what is the number?
solong [7]
To solve this problem, we are going to set up an equation.  Let the number that we are trying to find be represented by the variable x.  If we plug in the numbers that we know, we get the following equation:

3x/4 = 24

To simplify this equation, we need to multiply both sides by 4, to begin getting the x alone on the left side of the equation.

3x = 96

Finally, we need to divide both sides by 3, to get rid of the coefficient that is being multiplied to x.

x = 32

Therefore, the number that you are trying to find is 32.

Use the Product Property for Exponents to explain why x · x = x2.
Lubov Fominskaja [6]

Whenever there is no exponent on a variable,

you can give it an exponent of 1.

So we can rewrite the x's in this problem as x¹.

When we multiply two terms together

with like bases, we add their exponents.

So now just add their exponents to get x².

Simplify (-2x^4y^-3)^4
elixir [45]

Answer:

( - 2 {x}^{4} {y}^{ - 3} )^{4}  =  \frac{16 {x}^{16}}{ {y}^{12} }

Step-by-step explanation:

We want to simplify:

( - 2 {x}^{4} {y}^{ - 3} )^{4}

We need to apply the exponential property for products of powers.

Recall that:

( {a}^{m}  \times  {a}^{n} )^{p}  =  {a}^{mp}  \times  {a}^{np}

We apply this rule to get:

( - 2 {x}^{4} {y}^{ - 3} )^{4}  = ( { - 2)}^{4} x \times {x}^{16}  \times {y}^{ - 12}

This simplifies to:

( - 2 {x}^{4} {y}^{ - 3} )^{4}  = 16 {x}^{16}  \times {y}^{ - 12}

We rewrite as positive index to get:

( - 2 {x}^{4} {y}^{ - 3} )^{4}  =  \frac{16 {x}^{16}}{ {y}^{12} }
