He was taken he stayed in the cage for a while which would have been hard because hes used to being free kinda like all the open space. And he started to feel sad kinda for being caged up and hungry and he knew he wasn't the leader anymore as he was hit multiple time with the club. And he started to changed as the environment changed. At the end on the chapter he has a whole different environment now its he's not the leader anymore for example "At the first step upon the cold surface, Buck's feet sank into a white mushy something very like mud. He sprang back with a snort. More of this white stuff falling through the air. He shook himself, but more of it fell upon him. He sniffed it curiously, then licked some up on his tongue." Its saying like he's never been in the winter with snow.
