Answer:

3/26 students or 11%

Step-by-step explanation:

probability dependant formula:P(A∪B)=P(A)+P(B)−P(A∩B)

P(a)= basketball

P(b)=baseball

so

P(AUB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A∩B)= 18/26+5/26-20/26=3/26

3/26 or 11%

OR you could solve this by adding all the sport/non sport #'s 18+5+6=29 and subtract 26 from 29

29-26=3

hence 3/26 students would randomly play basketball or baseball

Hope this Helps!

4) Look at this set of 5 numbers: 5 3 5 3 4
e-lub [12.9K]
<h3>Answer: It increases by 1</h3>

==========================================================

Explanation:

To compute the mean, we first add up the numbers

5+3+5+3+4 = 20

Then divide by 5 since there are 5 numbers in the set

20/5 = 4

The mean is 4.

---------------

Now replace one of the '3's with 8 and recompute the mean

5+8+5+3+4 = 25

25/5 = 5

The mean is now 5.

The old mean in the previous section was 4.

The mean has increased by 1 since 5-4 = 1.

Side note: The increase from 3 to 8 is +5, which when dividing by 5, we're basically incrementing the mean by +1.

The ratio of the number of cups of yellow paint to the number of cups of blue paint that Greg mixed to make a shade of green pai
ziro4ka [17]

Answer:

Part A:  A ratio of 2:1  means that he uses<u><em> </em></u><u><em>2 cups of yellow paint for each cup of blue paint.</em></u>

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Part B: The ratio of yellow to blue is 2:1 = 2/1. So, if for 2 yellow is 1 blue, then for 1 yellow is x:

2/1 = 1/x

x = (1*1) / 2

x = 1/2

<u><em>For each cup of yellow paint, Greg should add 1/2 cup of blue paint.</em></u>

<u><em></em></u>

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Part C: 6 cups cost $54, then 1 cup cost:

54 / 6 = 9

<u><em>The price per cup of yellow paint is $9.</em></u>

Use_______to isolate the variable
vodomira [7]

Transposition

Transposition is a method to isolate the variable to one side of the equation and everything else to the other side so that you can solve the equation.

Algebraic equations can be solved using the Law of equations. The Law of equations states that whatever you do on one side of an equation, you must do on the other side as well.
