Is 30 a prime number , composite number, or neither?

Mathematics

30 is a composite number because it can be evenly divided by number other than 30 and 1. (i.e: 30/6=5, 30/5=6, 30/10=3).

An example of prime number would be 5, since it can only be evenly divided by 5 and 1.

The sum of the inside angles of a 5 sided figure needs to equal 540 degrees.

Add all the angles together to equal 540 and solve for x. Once you have the value for x you can use that to figure out all the angles.

X-8 + 3x-11 + x + 8 + 2x + 7 + x = 540

Simplify by combing like terms:

8x - 4 = 540

Add 4 to both sides:

8x = 544

Divide both sides by 8:

X = 68

Now replace x with 68 in each angle and solve:

U = 68-8 = 60

V = 3(68)-11 = 204-11 = 193

W = 68 + 8 = 76

Y = 68

Z = 2(68) + 7 = 136 + 7 = 143

To bill customers for water usage, one city converts the number of gallons used into units. This relationship is represented
-Dominant- [34]

Answer:

g is the independent variable.

u is the independent variable.

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the question, the data mentioned is as follows

Equation g = 748u

where,

g = the total number of gallons of water used

And, u =  the number of units.

As we've seen, Consumers are using the number of units of water.

The volume of water units does not depend on the total quantity of gallons of water that is being used.

So, the number of units i.e u represents an independent variable.

hence,

The value of the total quantity of gallons is entirely dependent on the number of units used, and the g represents the dependent variable

Therefore,

The third and fourth option is correct

Determine the length of the hypotenuse of a right triangle if the legs have lengths 12 inches and 16 inches?
tiny-mole [99]

Answer:

c = 20 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the sides of a right triangle, you use the Pythagorean Theorem.

a² + b² = c²

You know a and b, and you need to find c, the hypotenuse.

Plug in a and b.

(12)² + (16)² = c²

Simplify by solving the exponents.

144 + 256 = c²

Combine the constants.

400 = c²

Take the square root of both sides.

√400 = √c²

Solve the √

±20 = c

The length cannot be negative, so you can eliminate that as an option.

So, c = 20
