Trifles light as air Are to the jealous confirmations strong As proofs of holy writ.
Zanzabum

Answer:

This is a Shakespeare´s quote from "Othelo" which sketches some jealousy circumstances:

Act III, Scene 4

“Trifles light as air / Are to the jealous confirmations strong / As proofs of holy writ.

There are two resemblances presented by Shakespeare in this passage:

1. Iago compares trifles to air;

2. He compares trifles to holy writ for the jealous lover.

Explanation:

Iago understands how human jealousy, fueled by circumstantial evidence can destroy lives, though, it is his first hatred´s source.

Although Iago manipulates Othello telling him not to be jealous, at the end jealousy ends up destroying the heart of the man who falls prey to it, as he knows it won’t take much to fool him, so he ended up using jealousy against Othello.
