Answer:

Area of DEF = 30.22 square feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us find the ratio of sides of the triangles

    \frac{6}{4.5}=\frac{4}{3}

    \frac{10}{7.5}=\frac{4}{3}

    \frac{12}{9}=\frac{4}{3}

So DEF is a similar triangle to ABC with proportion \frac{4}{3}

If the sides are in a proportion m their areas are in proportion m²

 Area of DEF =\left ( \frac{4}{3} \right )^2\times Area of ABC

Area of DEF =\left ( \frac{4}{3} \right )^2\times 17

Area of DEF = 30.22ft²

In order to get the area of a triangle using sides, the formula that we are going to use is Heron's formula. This is after from "Hero of Alexandria".
So here is the step by step process:
First, we calculate for s (half of the triangles perimeter) s = a+b+c divided by 2.
s = 6 + 10 + 12 / 2
s =28/2
s = 14
Now that we have the s, we can now calculate for the area.
A = square root of s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
A= square root of 14 x 8 x 4 x 2
A= square root of 896
A = 29.93
The area of triangle DEF is 29.93 square feet or 30 square feet. Hope this answer helps.

kari74 [83]

Answer:

A.1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

 1  Pick two points on the line and determine their coordinates.

   2 Determine the difference in y-coordinates of these two points (rise).

   3 Determine the difference in x-coordinates for these two points (run).

 4 Divide the difference in y-coordinates by the difference in x-coordinates (rise/run or slope).

Six times the difference between two and a number is ten
sleet_krkn [62]
It is a tricky question .Only hard part is understanding the word problem and then converting it into numbers. Let us concentrate on the problem now.
Let us assume the unknown number = x
The coming to the equation part, we get
6(2 - x) = 10
12 - 6x = 10
-6x = 10 - 12
-6x = -2
x = 2/6
   = 1/3
So the unknown number is 1/3. I hope i have solved the question to your satisfaction and in future you can do this type of problems by yourself.

18/50 as a mixed number
vivado [14]

Answer:

2  14/50 simplified to 2  8/25 (all I did was divide 14 and 15 by 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

To convert an improper fraction to a mixed fraction, divide the numerator by the denominator, write down the quotient as the whole number and the remainder as the numerator on top of the same denominator.
