-Decomposers breakdown plants releasing nutrients into the soil. Plants take in the nutrients, die, and the decomposers breakdown the organic matter and return the nutrients to the soil.

-Therefore, the importance of decomposers to other living things is that they can break down organic matter and return essential resources to the soil to be reused by the community.
