9+9=18 -1     hope this helped

Ok, so an easy way that I have used to help me with adding to 9's is imagine that the 9 is 10.  if you added 8 + 10 it would be 18.  So then you just subtract 1 from 18 which would be the equivalent of 8 + 9.  So 8 + 9 is 17.

Paul worked as a library volunteer for 8 ¼ hours. Harry worked for 3 ½ hours. How much longer did Paul work than Harry?
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

4 3/4

Step-by-step explanation:

= (8 - 3) + (1/4 - 1/2)

= 5 + 1/4 - (1 x 2 over 2 x 2)

= 5 + 1/4 - 2/4

= 5 and (1/2 over 4)

= 5 + -1/4

= 4 3/4

13 years ago Mei what’s 35 years old. How old is she know
Anna007 [38]

Hey there!

35 years of age is her past age so to find out her age you just simply ADD her past age (which is like 35) plus 13.

YOUR EQUATION:

35 + 13 = current age

See with basic addition (two digit) you work from BACK to FORTH. So let’s do it that way to make it “easier” to solve.

5 + 3 = 8

3 + 1 = 4

Therefore, your answer SHOULD be: 48

Good luck on your assignment & enjoy your day!

Does this graph represent a function? Why or why not?
DedPeter [7]

Answer: C

Step-by-step explanation: For a function, each x-coordinate corresponds to exactly one y-coordinate.

To determine whether the graph shown here

is a function, we can use the vertical line test.

The vertical line test tells us that if each x-coordinate on the graph corresponds to exactly one y-coordinate, then any vertical line that we draw on the graph should hit the graph at only one point.

For the graph show here, any vertical line that you draw with hit the graph at only one point which means it does pass the vertical line test.

So this graph is a <em>function</em>.

Solve the equation by the zero factor property 6x^2 -5x -6=0
Alex_Xolod [135]
First, you need to factor the polynomial.

I'll use the trial and error method.

6x^2 - 5x - 6 = 0

6 has factors
6 and 1
3 and 2

I'll try 3 and 2 first.

(3x     )(2x      ) = 0

Now we need to factor -6.
-6 factors into
-1, 6
-6, 1
-2, 3
-3, 2

Now we need to see if one of these pairs of factors placed correclty will factor the trinomial.

(3x + 2)(2x - 3) = 0

That did it.

Now we use the zero factor property.

3x + 2 = 0 or 2x - 3 = 0

3x = -2      or 2x = 3

x = -2/3     or x = 3/2

Given ARWS = ATUV, find the values of x and y.
Nina [5.8K]

Answer:

x=11 degrees,y=6

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, given ΔRWS ≅ ΔTUV

Two triangle are said to be congruent to each other it they have exactly the same three sides and exactly the same three angles.

So, here RW = UT, WS = UV and SR = VT

⇒ 25 = 3y + 7

or, 3y = 25 - 7 = 18

or, y = 18/3 = 6

⇒ y = 6

In ΔTUV

By Angle Sum Property:

∠ TUV + ∠ UVT + ∠ UTV = 180°

or, 90° + 29°+ ∠ UTV = 180°

⇒∠ UTV = 180° - 119 = 61°

Now, by congruence rule: ∠ WRS = ∠ UTV

⇒ (8x - 27)° = 61°

or, 8x = 27° + 61° = 88°

or, x = 88/8 = 11°

⇒ x = 11°
