amid [387]

Answer:

cryptococcosis

Explanation:

Cryptococcosis

It is an air-borne disease. It is caused after inhalation of soil which is contaminated by encapsulated yeast, Cryptococcus neoformans or C. gattii. The soil is infested with yeast which are contained in the waste of the birds. This disease affects the lungs since it is caused by inhaling the Cryptococcus. Cryptococcus can spread to skin and other organs, also involving the brain and meninges alongwith bones and joints.

Symptoms

Meningitis is common and can be discovered by symptoms like headache, vision problems and changes in behavior.

Lesions and ulcers on the skin which are similar to acne, are another sign of this disease.

Coccidioidomycosis

Another air-borne disease caused by inhaling dust containing spores. It is caused by Coccidioides fungus.

This disease, if ignored, can lead to severe damage to the respiratory organs, bones and/ or heart.

Visible symptoms include tiredness, fever, rashes and pain.

People with weaker immune system are easy victims of severity of this disease.

Candidiasis

This is caused by the yeast, Candida albicans. The skin and mucous membranes are the commonly affected areas. Candidiasis of the mouth results in thrush, which is usually found in infants. Vagina is another common area which is affected by this disease.

Histoplasmosis

This is the result of inhaling fungal spores which are carried by air. The lungs are the first organs to be affected. Initial symptoms include fever, cough, pain and bumps. More serious complications are indicated by blood in the cough, shortness of breath and heavy sweating.

Prevention

All the diseases discussed above are air borne diseases. The respiratory system is affected the most followed by the brain, since the microbe are easily spread through the body.

The most important prevention is the diet which helps boost the immune system. Another important prevention is cleanliness which is to be maintained until medical help becomes available.
