If 25 offspring are born and 14 moose die per year that means every year the number of moose increases by 11.

550 + 11x = 550*2
(x: how many years taken to double the number of moose)
550 + 11x = 1100
11x = 550
x = 50 years

idk if this is right tho you should check again

In your own words, explain what is the difference between SIMPLE and COMPOUND probability.
denpristay [2]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Simple events are events where one experiment happens at a time and it will have a single outcome such as tossing a coin. Compound events are events where there is more than one possible outcome such as roll a five using a 6-sided die

A wire of length 240 inches is cut into 2 equals pieces. Each piece of wire is then bent into forming an equilateral triangle an
Tamiku [17]
240 inches cut into 2 equal pieces is just taking half of the wire.
Making the two pieces of wire 120 inches.
If you bend one 120 inch wire into a square, that means that each side equals 30 inches. (A square has 4 sides. 120/4 = 30)
An area of a square is length times width, which the length equals 30 and width equal to thirty. 30 * 30 = 900. square inches.
120 wire bent into a triangle makes each side equal to 40. 120/3=40. The area of an equilateral triangle is height times width. The width is just one of the sides (40 inches) but the height needs some geometry. To find the height you need to use either 30 times sin(60) or 30 times cos(30), both are equal. To be clear, I will leave the height as 30sin(60). The area will be equal to 40*30sin(60)
which can be simply written as 1200sin(60).
So the sum of both areas is (1200sin(60)+900)

Simply 9+3(8-3(7-5))-4
EastWind [94]

Answer:

11

Step-by-step explanation:

  1. 9+3(8-3(7-5))-4
  2. 9+3(8-3(2))-4
  3. 9+3(8-6)-4
  4. 9+3(2)-4
  5. 9+6-4
  6. 15-4
  7. 11

I first delt with simplifying the parentheses till step five. Then in five I just added 9+6 because it came before the -4. But PEMDAS is very important when doing these problems because it tell you the order

  • P (parentheses)
  • E (exponents)
  • M (multiply)
  • D (divide)
  • A (add)
  • S (subtract)
  • **the biggest thing is that with multipe and divide it depends what comes first. If you see divide before multipe in the problem just do it that way. It is the same way with add and subtract but The multiple/divide group ALWAYS comes BEFORE add/subtract
