A hiker walked 12.8 miles from 9:00 am to noon. He walked an additional 17.2 miles from 1:00 pm. What is his average rate for the entire walk, miles per hour?

3 miles per hour. Theres 4 hours between 9 am and 12 and another 6 from 1to 6.so ten hours. then 12.8 plus 17.8 thats 30 then 30 divided by ten is 3 miles per hour. Your welcome :)
