The human genome project was started in 1990, was scientific research conducted globally to identify or determine the total base pairs that make the complete genome of humans which are 30000 (estimated) in human DNA and their correct sequence.
It is completed in 2003 as it was a very long term project that also provided information about the structure and organization of the genome. So it is true that HGP was an international project aimed at sequencing and mapping all the genes in human DNA.
