This type of behavior demonstrates positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement is achieved when any type of behavior is strengthened or reinforced as a result of receiving a positive feedback or gesture. In this instance the positive reinforcement is the nod of approval given by the teacher.

Answer:

The process of operant conditioning that is shown in the above question is called Shaping.

Explanation:

Operant conditioning is a mechanism for learning new behavior - a process that Skinner called shaping. The fundamental instrument of shaping is reinforcement - the consequence of an action when it is perceived by the practitioner.

In operant conditioning, shaping consists of reinforcing successive approximations and ultimately desired behavior, so shaping also calls the “successive approximation method”. In this method new responses are developed in the individual through a gradual process of learning.

rjkz [21]

Answer:

Alliie's situation best illustrates scarcity.

Explanation:

Scarcity refers to the situation when there are unlimited wants and limited resources. In the given scenario, Allie wanted to buy running shoes which cost her $90. However, her debit card was declined because she did not have enough resources (money) to pay for the shoes. Scarcity is a rather common concept which is applied all over the world because people have unlimited wants and limited resources to cover their demands.

How did climate change affect early people migration
bija089 [108]

All organisms encounter some amount of environmental change. Some changes occur over a short time, and may be cyclical, such as daily or seasonal variations in the amount of temperature, light, and precipitation. On longer time scales, hominins experienced large-scale shifts in temperature and precipitation that, in turn, caused vast changes in vegetation – shifts from grasslands and shrub lands to woodlands and forests, and also from cold to warm climates. Hominin environments were also altered by tectonics – earthquakes and uplift, such as the rise in elevation of the Tibetan Plateau, which changed rainfall patterns in northern China and altered the topography of a wide region. Tectonic activity can change the location and size of lakes and rivers. Volcanic eruptions and forest fires also altered the availability of food, water, shelter, and other resources. Unlike seasonal or daily shifts, the effects of many of these changes lasted for many years, and were unexpected to hominins and other organisms, raising the level of instability and uncertainty in their survival conditions.

Many organisms have habitat preferences, such as particular types of vegetation (grassland versus forests), or preferred temperature and precipitation ranges. When there’s a change in an animal’s preferred habitat, they can either move and track their favored habitat or adapt by genetic change to the new habitat. Otherwise, they become extinct. Another possibility, though, is for the adaptability of a population to increase – that is, the potential to adjust to new and changing environments. The ability to adjust to a variety of different habitats and environments is a characteristic of humans.

Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

The minor can cancel the contract to sell the car.

Explanation:

 • Stare decisis is often used by courts when similar cases from the past are brought to the courts. The concept of precedent is applied in stare decisis. It is the process of using earlier decisions made by courts to guide the decisions of similar cases.
 • If the court has ruled that a minor (a person under the age of 18) could cancel a contract for the sale of a car in James v. Lynn, 1995, the court can use the same decision in the case of Baker v. Becker because of its similar nature.
