Stable ecosystems can be altered, either rapidly or slowly, through human activities, natural disasters, climatic changes. An ecosystem may be described as a community and its surrounding which includes non living organisms. Human activities such as deforestation, mining, dumping of wastes on the oceans alters and affects the ecosystem negatively and thus making the habitats unfavorable for the organisms. Natural disasters such as floods, tsunami and climatic changes may also alter the ecosystem.

Your skin is constantly producing new cells through cell division. How does this happen? During interphase, how does a cell prep
Nina [5.8K]
Interphase is the phase in the cell cycle during which cells that will undergo mitosis prepare for division. In interphase, DNA of the cell copies. After that cell undergoes mitosis, which is the phase of the cell cycle during which cell divides on two identical. Mitosis consists of four phases:
1. Prophase: Chromatin in the nucleus condenses and chromosomes pair up
2. Metaphase: Chromosomes line up at the centre of the cell.
3. Anaphase: The sister chromatids separate from each other to the opposite sides of the cells.
4. Telophase and Cytokinesis: Membrane forms around each set of chromosomes on two opposite sides of the cells and cell divides into two identical daughter cells.

In flies, red eyes (R) are dominant to brown eyes (r). A heterozygous fly is crossed with a homozygous recessive fly
hichkok12 [17]

Answer:

The cross of a heterozygous fly with a homozygous fly can be shown as follows:

         r r

R Rr Rr

r rr rr

The results show that there is a 50% probability that the flies produced will have red eyes. Their genotypes will be heterozygous.

The results of the punnet square show that there will be a 50% probability that the offsprings will have brown eyes. Their genotype will be homozygous recessive.

A homozygous trait can be described as a trait which has same alleles for the gene which encodes the trait. Heterozygous means that both the alleles for the trait will be different.
