What were the jamestown settlers most interested in?

Surviving. First and foremost. In 1607.

Not many of the original settlers did and most suffered beyond our modern day comprehension.

They had been sent with multiple agendas. To build a fort and establish a proper colony and port, to look for previously untapped minerals and precious metals, and to convert and control and native peoples.
