First you have to find the number in between 44 and 55. 
First you subtract 55-44=11 then divide 11/2= 5.5 now just ad 44+5.5 and get 49.5.
Now that you have the middle number since there are two people painting the room you have to divide 49.5 by 2 and get 24.75
