Mount Pinatubo was erupted in the year 1991 and is one of the largest volcanic eruption that has taken place on earth. This eruption led to an emission of large amount of toxic gases including sulfur dioxide and volcanic ashes. These were trapped in the atmosphere for a long period of time. There were some materials which reflected the incoming solar radiations back into the space. Due to this, the gases were trapped in the atmosphere and eventually led to an increasing surface temperature. This event caused the earth's global climate much warmer.
