A single strand of DNA helix consists of 100 nitrogenous base pairs. On one strand, 36 of the bases are adenine and 24 are cytos
Katena32 [7]
Hello!

For the complementary strand of DNA, 36 Thymine bases and 24 Guanine bases would complete the proper base pairing.

This is given by the concept of complementarity. A base in DNA has complementarity with only one other base. This complementarity is produced by hydrogen bond interactions.

For DNA, Adenine couples with Thymine and Cytosine couples with Guanine. So the 36 adenine bases will couple with 35 thymine bases, and so on.

Have a nice day!

Suppose that a leaf disk that has had the air sucked out is placed in bicarbonate solution under a dim light that results in a l
saul85 [17]

The answer is; NO

This is because the leaf would not have tiny oxygen bubbles spread across its base (because the base is where most stomata are) that would help it float on the water. The reason is that the oxygen produced in the process of photosynthesis would be consumed in respiration because the rates of the two biochemical processes are the same.

When two homozygous plants with contrasting traits are crossed, what are the exoected genotypes for the offspring?
leonid [27]

If two homozygous plants with contrasting traits are crossed, the expected genotypes for the offspring will be heterozygous. The dominant trait would be expressed, but they'd be carriers for the recessive trait.
