Escapism, as in to escape something. This fundamental theme of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" is evident throughout the book as Walter fantasizes about amazing and different adventures when in reality most of his life is quite boring. He escapes to this different reality to deal with the issues in his own life. Modern day equivalents for many people include alternate online personalities where shy people can be courageous, much like Walter Mitty's escapes and imaginary adventures.

ankoles [38]

Answer and Explanation:

Students can use the objectives of European imperialism as a historical context and how it impacted the relationship between America and England. They can also show that because of these objectives, England had an intention to leave colonies always dominated and with little voice and therefore did not allow participation in parliament. Finally, they can use the historical context of the fact that England needed the work of the colonies to pay for the costs of war.

All of these elements change the course of the conversation because they can create different arguments about colonialism, each student can present a context that he believes has caused the American colonists to become more angry with England.
