X=one type that cost 9
y=one type that cost 8

total books=type1+type2
total books=13
x+y=13

the total cost=cost of each added together
cost of each=number of books times cost per book
total cost=108
9x+8y=108

we have
x+y=13
9x+8y=108
solve for x and y

multiply first equation by -8 and add to first equation
-8x-8y=-104
9x+8y=108 +
x+0y=4

x=4
subsitute
x+y=13
4+y=13
minus 4
y=9

4 of the $9
9 of the $8

thats how to solve

Given: Triangle ACD is isosceles; <1 is congruent to <3 Prove: Segment AB || Segment CD
julsineya [31]

Answer:

Segment AB || Segment CD

Step-by-step explanation:

Two lines are said to be parallel (||) if they do not meet, even when extended to infinity.

Given: <1 ≅ <3, ΔACD is an isosceles triangle.

Proof: Segment AB || Segment CD

From the diagram given,

AC ≅ AD (side property of isosceles triangle)

<3 = <4 (base angle property of an isosceles triangle)

<1 = <4 (alternate angle property)

Therefore, segment AB is parallel to segment CD.

Write the scale factors and values for x for the pairs of similar triangles below. 9 cm x cm 4 cm 2 cm Scale Scale Factor: X=
Neporo4naja [7]

The scale factor of the similar triangles is: 1/2. The value of x is: 4.5 cm.

Scale Factor of Similar Triangles

Scale factor of similar triangles is the ratio of their corresponding sides.

Given the two similar triangles in the diagram attached below, we have the following scale factor as:

Scale factor = 2/4 = 1/2

Therefore:

x = 1/2 × 9

x = 4.5 cm.

Therefore, the scale factor of the similar triangles is: 1/2. The value of x is: 4.5 cm.
