Glucose is generally phagostimulatory (stimulates eating) for animals. The observation that cockroach populations exposed to poi

son + glucose bait began to refuse to eat glucose brings up the question of whether this aversion behavior is learned or whether it originated as a genetic mutation that became more common in the population over generations.
To answer this question, you can make use of some simple genetic crosses to look for predicted inheritance patterns. Only genetic traits, rather than learned behaviors, would be expected to show the predicted patterns. First, you need to find two populations of pure-breeding cockroaches:

• one population that has been exposed to poison + glucose bait and exhibits the glucose-aversion behavior
• one population that has not been exposed to poison + glucose bait and does not refuse to eat glucose (wild-type)
Next you perform a hybrid cross in which you mate together members from each of the two populations to create F1 offspring.
Match the labels to complete each prediction (letters) so that it supports its hypothesis (numbers). Labels may be used once, more than once, or not at all.

A. Will have a intermediate trait

B. Will refuse glucose

C. Have a mix of traits depending on experience

D. Will accwpt glucose

1. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined recessive trait

2. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined dominant trait

3. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined incompletely dominant traitselect

4. Glucose aversion is a learned behavior

Answer:

A. Will have a intermediate trait 3. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined incompletely dominant trait

B. Will refuse glucose 2. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined dominant trait

C. Have a mix of traits depending on experience 4. Glucose aversion is a learned behavior

D. Will accept glucose 1. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined recessive trait

Explanation:

A. Will have a intermediate trait 3. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined incompletely dominant trait

When an intermediate genotype appears in the resulting offspring from a cross carried out between two set of populations where one population exhibits the glucose-aversion behavior and the other one does not refuse to eat glucose, then it is clear that neither of the two traits were dominant

B. Will refuse glucose 2. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined dominant trait

When a trait is dominant , it will express itself irrespective of the nature of the pairing allele.

C. Have a mix of traits depending on experience 4. Glucose aversion is a learned behavior

When any trait with in an species appears with the passage of time by frequent and continuous exposure to the similar scenarios, then an induced  characteristic is expressed which is appraised by learning behaviour of genes

D. Will accept glucose 1. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined recessive trait

Here,  the Glucose aversion trait is not expressed  and hence it is a recessive trait.

The correct answer is:

A. Will have a intermediate trait 3. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined incompletely dominant trait

B. Will refuse glucose 2. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined dominant trait

C. Have a mix of traits depending on experience 4. Glucose aversion is a learned behavior

D. Will accept glucose 1. Glucose aversion is a genetically-determined recessive trait

If we put it simple and say that for example glucose aversion is genetically determinated, with the genotype AA and eating glucose with the genotype aa. The offspring will have Aa genotype (heterozygous). Depending on which phenotype is expressed in heterozygous we can conclude whether the trait is dominant or recessive or due to earned behavior.

Answer:

Answer:

B. only chemoreceptors,

mechanoreceptors, thermoreceptors, and

nociceptors

Explanation:

Receptors are chemical structures, that

receive and transduce signals that may

be integrated into biological systems.

Receptors that can be found in the

mouth include: chemoreceptors,

mechanoreceptors, thermoreceptors, and

nociceptors.

Chemoreceptors

These are receptors that detects

chemical stimuli, either molecules or ions

dissolved in liquids. An example would

be our taste buds in the mouth, because

they respond to specific molecules or

ions in our ingested food.

Thermoreceptors responds to changes

in temperature. These receptors are

present in the oral cavity, skin and

hypothalamus.

Mechanoreceptors are receptors that

respond to distortion of the plasma

membrane that occurs due to touch,

pressure, vibration, stretch, stress or

strain

. They can be found in the mucosae of

hypothalamus.

Mechanoreceptors are receptors that

respond to distortion of the plasma

membrane that occurs due to touch,

pressure, vibration, stretch, stress or

strain

. They can be found in the mucosae of

ginviva (gum), cheek, tongue and soft and

hard palate.

Nociceptors are receptor responds

to painful stimuli. The purpose of

nociceptors is to inform the body of

injury, damage or threat of damage to

body tissues so that a response may be

made. They can be found in the tooth

pulp and within dentine cavity.

Please help i give 48 points !!!which correctly lists the three layers in which water moves easily
Aliun [14]

soil, rock, organic layer

Explanation:

Permeability is the ability of a layer of rock to transmit fluid such as oil or water

The factors that affect the permeability of a rock layer includes the sizes of the rock particles, the ratio of the available voids to the solid mass of the rock, the presence of trapped air and the presence of organic matter

Rocks such as gravels, and  sparingly cemented sands have high permeability

The most impermeable of the options are granite and clay which for granite has large particle mass and contain no voids while clay has very fine particles packed together with little room for water

Therefore, water moves easily between layers  soil, rock, organic layer

Which of the following would take the longest time to regulate blood pressure?A. hormonal control of peripheral resistanceB. che
Nesterboy [21]

The right answer is D. renal regulation.

Among the many factors that modulate tension (vessels, heart strength, blood volume ...), the kidney plays a vital role because it makes an enzyme called renin that helps increase blood pressure and it regulates the outflow of sodium and water, which contribute to the elevation or diminution of blood pressure in the arteries.

What factors explain the difference in biodiversity between the tundra and the tropical rain forest?
Natali [406]
I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is option B. The difference in biodiversity between the tundra and the tropical rain forest would be that warmer temperatures and higher average rainfall in the tropical rainforest allow more things to survive. Hope this answers the question.
