She wants to sell 24 movie posters but still have her poster collection maintain the same ratio of 120:100. If she sells 24 movie posters, how many band posters should she sell? Explain please.
Ratio is a comparison of two numbers; it indicates their sizes in relation to each other. It compares two quantities by using a division where the dividend termed the antecedent and the divisor termed the consequent. In this case, the first number is 120 and the other one is 100. The collector has already sold 24 movie posters (120/5=24) so to get the other number is it necessary to divide 100/5 so we get 20 band posters.
