Electromagnets are devices that create a magnetic field through the application of electricity. Strong electromagnets are used to lift, move and drop heavy objects, such as vehicles. Electromagnets have advantages over permanent magnets. When the current is switched off, the electromagnet will lose its magnetism. The car will fall back to earth and we need that when we move cars in a junkyard. With a regular ( permanent ) magnet it would be much harder to do.

Jamil finds that he reads 1/5 of his 115-page book in 1/4 hour
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

He will read 92 pages in an hour going by the current rate at which he reads

Step-by-step explanation:

The complete question is as follows;

Jamil found that he reads 1/5 of his 115 - page book in 1/4 of an hour. At this rate how many pages does he read in an hour

We proceed as follows;

If he reads 1/5 of 115 in 1/4 hour

1/5 of 115 pages refer to 1/5 * 115 = 23 pages

This means that he reads 23 pages in quarter of an hour

So in an hours the number of pages he will read will be 23 * 4 = 92 pages

Find a polynomial with a degree of 3, and the zeros 1,7, & -4 with no other zeros.
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

f(x)=(x+4)(x-7)(x-1)

Step-by-step explanation:

zeroes are when you plug in that x value and get y=0

therefore if you set x = that number and solve for 0 you get a "function"

multiplying these together will yield the complete 3rd degree polynomial

x = 1

x-1=0

x=7

x-7=0

x=-4

x+4=0

f(x)=(x+4)(x-7)(x-1)

If needed you could expand but I'm too lazy

Find approximate radius of a circle that has an area of 60 square centimeters
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]
Area of circle = πr^2
60=πr^2

we need to find radius (r)
so we solve for r
r^2=60/π
r=√(60/π)
r= 4.37

I need help please
Naddik [55]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

7) ∠1  + 30 = 180                {linear pair}

            ∠1 = 180 - 30

            ∠1 = 150

8)  ∠2 = 30    {Vertically opposite angles are congruent}

9) In ΔLMN,

∠L + ∠N + ∠M = 180   {angle sum property of triangle}

50 + 30 + ∠M = 180

       80 + ∠M = 180

                ∠M = 180 - 80

                ∠M = 100°

10) Sum of exterior angle of a triangle equals to sum of opposite interior angles.

∠B + ∠A = ∠BCD

30 +   ∠A = 80

        ∠A  = 80 - 30

      ∠A = 50
