Find the midpoint of the segment with the following endpoints. (6,3) and (0,9) help please

To find the midpoint we take both x values of the ordered pairs, add them together, and divide them by two. then we do the same for the y.

x1 = 6
y1 = 3
x2 = 0
y2 = 9

add the x’s together:

x1 + x2 aka:
6 + 0 = 6
divide 6 by 2 which = 3

that’s our new x.
now we do the y’s.

y1 + y2 aka:
3 + 9 = 12
divide 12 by 2, and we get 6.

that’s our new y.

now we put the x and y together as an ordered pair and the midpoint:


(3,6)
